Last week on the grave yard shift I am happy and sad about it. I met some characters that work during the night. There are the crazy contractors who hum different songs as they work and enjoy pretending to site E.T when the white tarp was up hiding the new freezer section in target. Then there is my co workers that enjoy amusing themselves with calling are boss Tamster the hamster because she scurries to and fro. Plus the occasional dash to the side door for a not allowed smoke break where I was the look out and I enjoyed the smell of the smoke off them. One of the benefits of hanging out with smokers but having quit the smell is something I still enjoy well it depends on what kind. Camels would have to be my favorite. I think I will always remember the taste of my last Camel Crush it burned perfectly to me with a final snap of the menthol ball for a tiny mint after taste. But I ramble on..... Working overnight gave me insight to not just people but the mood of the night as well it is calm pockets wrapped up in a net of frenzy. But over all catching glimpse of the sunrise was the best part. The rays would shine through the window just right and bounce of the white tile floor hitting the red wall and making it have a luster to it. Of course I only caught this twice before realizing people noticing me staring at the wall. I will always remember the grave shift experience but I don't think I will do it again because of being sleepy all the time it was annoying but noticing the different things made it worth it.
